does any one ever design and build (or try) their own furniture or shelving or what not.... i was thinking of building a bath sink and cabinet, the cabinet would be open and the sink would be formed with concrete....
anyone ever done anything ... like this stuff.....

I wonder if those IKEA designers ever tried to put together any boxed version of any piece of furniture themselves...
prolly not...

A company named Bostik-Findley makes those polymer infused concretes so you can cast bath tubs and sinks.

I've done some design and built street furniture. The sink sounds good. There is an issue of Fine Homebuilding that shows you how to do one yourself... I can't remember which issue. It was this past summer when it came out. Good help though... step by step. Good luck

in college i had a 3d design class where we made nothing but boxes, lamps and chairs.
i built some really cool stuff. you'd be surprised at how little you can spend at a menards, a dollar store, and a thrift store to make some really cool usable items.
coffee table, a couple chairs, and a few lamps adorn my home.
