Mac Sound In...?

  Pardon my ignorance but does anyone know how to record sound into a G4 running OSx? I've got a mic but that old 'Record' option does not come up in my Sound Control Panel.

  anyone? I used to be able to just talk into my laptop speakers using Soundedit for input - now on my G4 titanium it doesnae work.

  also a piece of s/ware called sound studio is needed to record.

  it's good for recording mixes etc.
