Has anyone seen the film "irreversible" starring
Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel. There's a fight scene in the beginning that will make you throw up. This bloke hits another in the head with a fire extinguisher -- and keeps hitting him until his face collapses.
I'm not sure how they've done it -- it's clever editing and looks very real.

i believe it gets even worse later on -not sure if i can watch the rest.
I need to watch some cartoons -- put me a good frame of mind

I just caught it last night. It was extremely disturbing to say the least. This coming from a sick bastard.

and I mean 'interest' wink wink.

Dopepope. Never blame the artist for doing his work. Blame the ones that inspired the artist.

damn well put, reluct!

not sure why you are saying that to me...but I agree.
I liked the film very much. I was just saying that certain scenes were very disturbing to witness. This due in a large amount to the way they were filmed and acted. The acting is amazing.

Oops sorry about that dopypope :) I misunderstood your "This coming from a sick bastard. " remark. You were referring to yourself. Not the director. My mistake.
- dopepope0
yeah...that's funny. I'm the sick bastard. The director is too...naot for the violence though. For the balls to do what he did with the credits. I loved it. Crazy music too.

I didn't have the balls to check it yet. I can't rape scenes in movies. No real problems with other forms of violence strangely enough.
I felt sick for two weeks after seeing happyness. It's a great movie though.

haven't seen it yet, but i love his last film "i stand alone" though...

That was by far the most sickeningly real depiction of rape. I had to keep telling myself its being acted...to get through it. But when the film was over and the shock wore off I realized just how well acted it was for me to feel that way. The head bashing scene was really interesting too. I feel a slight amount of CG may be used here...but I can't tell.

the movie was sick, and this is not mented as a compliment. well acted indeed but without the rape and fight seen the movie is shit. just based on the shock effect. baise moi, dobberman.. black cat white cat, beautifull...
- dopepope0
Go rizon! You GO!
I can see why you think that of the film. I actually enjoyed the scenes that contained no shock. And I'm still not certain the film needed to be told backwards. One likes what they like I guess.
Baise Moi was forgettable. Ok film...but nothing real. Gummo is great.

irreversible is not an interesting movie, didn't do much for me.
movies like C'est arrivé près de chez vous ( man bites dog) and the terrific ' la haine' (the anger)
are so much more
- Bio0
C'est arrivé près de chez vous (man bites dog) was indeed a good flick!
ive heard much about The Anger, but ive not seen it. movies like that are hard to find in my area of the US. ah well.

La Haine is one of the best .
Plus a great soundtrack
