The guy who beat SMB3 in 11 minutes faked it. Took him 2 years to do it. "Since there are 30 frames playing per second, and the video is 11 minutes long, he went through almost 20,000 individual frames, and then the video basically played the individual frames seamlessly as thought the game were being played in real time."
