    Truffaut's autobiographical Antoine Doinel series is being released this month by Criterion. As you would expect from them, the DVD packaging design is amazing. Each of the films is presented in a very elegant box showing a costume Jean Pierre Leaud wore as Doinel [see column on right]. To me, THAT is an example of real design, based on IDEAS, with both style and substance. Unlike the fluff we're used to seeing these days. I gotta have that box set!
