    There is an exhibit called "Obsessive Drawing" at the American Folk Art Museum in New York which details the work of 4 artists that produce such detailed drawings that they border on insanity. I was only able to find a website for one of them, Chris Hipkiss, which shows in fair detail the complexity of his work, but to really get the jist, I highly recommend seeing this in person.

    The other 3 artists are Hiroyuki Doi, Charles Benefiel and Eugene Andolsek.
