    "After graduating, I worked so that I could buy supplies - canvas, paints, etc. I would also spend money submitting slides into juried shows, hoping to be accepted. When all was said and done, I won a few awards and they seemed like such huge accomplishments. After some time of not selling anything, I realized that there was no possible way for me to make a living by just selling paintings, so my parents lent me money to get a computer.
