Never export within illustrator. Always import in Indesign and then export to PDF. Or make a Postscript file out of it, and then Distill in Arobat Distiller. (but you need acrobat joboptions from the printer). Plus a color profile of the country where it has been send to.
Europe's colorprofile is ISO or regular EUROSCALE (coated/uncoated).
But best thing is to import the EPS in Indesign and export it with the PDF/X-3 preset, When you export you get a few info's :
Set under General-tab, compatibilty to "ACROBAT 5 - 1.4". Compression to JPEG or automatic. Marks & Bleeds, put an (x) to "Cropmarks" define your bleed in mm. Leave the rest like this. Press Export, et Voila! A compressed and smalled highres PDF file.Hope this works for you V! Let me know... thx.
