You could also consider registering your domain seperately (such as GoDaddy) rather than wth your current web host... It can make these transfers a lot easier...as all you need to do is change the nameserver information in GoDaddy's control panel to stop pointing at the old hosts nameservers, and start pointing at NT's nameservers, and thats it.
They also have full DNS control, so you can set the mail to be hosted elsewhere from the web hosting, point subdomains at a totally seperate host or simply point them at the IP address of your home computer etc..
