    I love Portland. Moved year a bit over a year ago from LA, and San Francisco before that.

    Portland doesn't have anywhere the homeless problem of other major cities. The homeless congregate around that section of Burnside all day everyday, so if that's where you hang out, you'll get a skewed vision of Portland's homeless problem.

    The cost of living here is moderately low, much lower than Chicago. Chicago's summers and winters are harsher. The city size here is very manageable, not much traffic, good public transportation, beautiful bridges, terrific parks, great restaurants.

    I'm self-employed so don't know much about the business scene. Down to earth people, not too much pretention.
