dude.... I put on my headphones and never answered the phone...the boss used to send people into my office looking for me....I would have my headphones on and just wave them off.....
they used to be afraid to go back to the boss to tell them I did that....I made everyone more afraid of me then of the boss.....
the boss would call me and I would tell him I was busy and I would call him when I had time...
he used to scream at me and curse at me....then I finally figured out the answer
1) dont respond right away
2) if they give you something to do... wait...until you are asked again to see if they really need it
3) call everyone to find out if anyone else is doing it
4) dont answer your phone... always let it go to vmail
5) explain to them that if you dont pick up the phone that you are working on something important... and if it is really urgent they should send someone for you...I have a lot of other rules that work..
they all said though that ....although I was very angry over the past 3 months...and walking around without a smile...I did my best work and got more done then in the whole year.....
I said cause I did it my way....I really wanted to bust out sinatra....
