i would have to disagree...lois's character was brought into the story as the writers have been endlessly making up new storylines that never happened in the books with characters that never existed within any dc universe continunity, that in order to keep the comic fans in check they threw in actual characters from the old books to solidify and strengthen the gravity of the superman character mythos and almost set in stone a new direction for the new characters who then die by then end of the episode.
its all my specualtion and my personal opinion and smallville conspiracies.
