I'm not being defensive :)
It's just that these sweeping statements by the likes of Bill Gates seem to be said because his power allows it to be said.
There is an enormous difference between a market for people not that interested in music who want do download the latest single every now and then, to their phone, and a market that wants all their albums at their fingertips.
The latter of which - people who really embrace mp3 players in a way that they essentially become their stereo at home, on the road, friend's homes, with headphones, etc.) I don't see as a group that will be too interested in a cell phone/mp3 player combo, even with potentially 5GB of storage.
Just trying to diferentiate between the two. :) I know it's just an mp3 player. There's a market for both things, I just don't see a tremendous amount of iPod converts giving up what they're used to for two devices to be combined into one.
