I've got a daughter that'll be two yrs old this summer..
she's a handful for sure...but i can't think of anything in life that's better than being her dad.my wife and i gave ourselves a few years of just enjoying couplehood, living downtown toronto, enjoying the nightlife, having fun..
then, once we'd saved enough we bought a house in an old neighborhood, and soon after, we found out she was pregnant.i guess it's like anything else, you just rise to the challenge..you dont' really think about it...you just do it.
when you think about it, you get nervous, second guessing about whether you'll be a good parent, but once you are, and you're in the middle of dirty diapers, latenight feedings, you just realize you ARE doing it, and doing just fine...
and when your daughter comes running up to you in those clumsy steps, gives you a big hug and starts singing Jethro Tull songs as loud as she can (because she hears daddy playing it) you know that you're doing a pretty decent job.;)
when you're younger you worry about whether you are ready, and whether you'll miss going out at night and partying ...that sorta thing..
once you're a dad, and your child is sleeping in your arms and you're watching some stupid Barney video for the upteenth time...well...what can i say...as ridiculous as it sounds that is a MILLION times better than going out...
cheers
