i was that way when i entered my 1st year in uni. depressed as fuck. a john cage story helped me out. i'll paraphrase.
John, a poet, walks into his favourite bookstore and looking glum as he always does, shakes the rain off of himself and glumly looks around. Mary, the book shop owner, greets John with: Hi John! Good to see you! You okay? You don't look too good?
John: I've been thinking about killing myself.
Mary: That's a good idea, why don't you do it?
