I liked the fresh color palette and the wide feeling that i had when i first got in.
I feel a lack of control in the text transitions wich gives me a messy impression of the whole site.
I think the main problem is that you are trying to simulate a 3D transition (or a proof effect) in an interface that looks like more like a board.
And you clarely didn't use a 3D software to make the animations, wich results in odd shapes and movement.Not taking in account my personal taste (i wont go for circled masks as backgrounds) or if it looks updated (wich seems to be imperative for some people here), I see a big problem with the white tinny text, that's almost unreadable.
I would add some clues in the news navigation, wich is totally intuitive.
Some FX are fine like the rotating logo, smiling guy with red bg, classic preloading animation.
I see inconsistencies in the shadow FX between the menu drop shadow and the video player drop shadow.
Not serious problems with loading or performance.
(I'm in Buenos Aires, PC P4, 512 ram, Firefox, 1mg shared connection).Other than all the above if your client is happy your job is done.
