    I've had problems with Mac's in the past, but never with OSX. Have you talked to Apple support? One of the reasons why people pay such a premium for Apple is the support. If they cant fix the problem they will replace the parts. If you want to tackle the problem on your own for some reason, then backup your stuff and reinstall the OS.. maybe it would be a good excuse to upgrade to Tiger.
