hang on.... maybe not.
It could be similar to when a disk in a RAID set fails...you just replace the disk, and go to the RAID setup window in Disk Utility and designate the disks in the set, and hit 'Rebuild'
not sure though... Search for RAID in Mac Help, and on the Support site:
