I used to do that too. I wouldn't vote to make the margin of non-voters more visible. But I realized that nobody cares about this margin.
Let me get wise and philosophical for a while:
Sometimes if you don't enter the game because it's "their game", you lose more than you would if you played and lost.
Therefore I'd rather vote, even if there's no chance of winning.
