    few things

north korea has one of the best trained army in the world. if you are born to a mendetory military training, everyone is a soldier. the whole country of north korea is fortified.

if US confronts NK with army, the casualty rate if min at 500k. The US will not do clean sweep like they did in NA. the general conception that most NA has is that US is about to attack any time. they areon constant state alert. the war may last for months and stalemate will build.

At this time, US can not fight duel front war.

Also, the recent rise of confrontation (last 5 yrs) is due to US pulling out of deal set out with NA while Clinton was in power. SK got angry cause they were given no reason for Bush taking the deal out of NK.

The deal was that US and SK will support humanitarianly (food and med) as NK promised to open up the country. And yes it was happening. SK president went to NK to talk face to face which has never happened. The ball was rolling open up the country and NK was on it way to unification with SK.

I blame Bush and Rumsfeld and Wolfiwitz for their policing the world doctorant, where they must keep the world peace with iron grip. Ironic.

SK was so close to be united with NK. I would say with in next 6 - 10 yrs. And Bush came in stopped everything in track.

It didnt help, calling NK axis of evil when he got in to the office.

As a korean, i remember the days when i was in school, i had to do bomb shelter practive, bio chemical warfare drills, and learning how to properly hold a wood rifle. I was hoping that with in my year, i would get a chance to take my parents to see the beautiful country side of NK. Now i worry that this may not happen at all.

    sad indeed
