Contrary to what everyone's been saying here, I've got a slightly higher end Toshiba Satellite than the one you linked to and it's actually worked out great for me. True, it's a slight workout to carry around, but that's more than made up by the super wide screen and great display which is the critical factor for me. No performance complaints and it's still going strong after a year (and I bought it refurbished). I had a Thinkpad before that, and honestly, I would not get a Thinkpad for design work. True, they are very durable but mine went to pot completely after a few years (pretty much like any other machine that gets used heavily). No matter what machine you get, I think it's always a good idea to upgrade often, every year if possible - that way you can sell your machine for close to what you bought it for, and still get a better model.
