    enjine, that isn't the solution to his problem.

    if you have an internal harddrive that is ata133 and over 120GB capacity...some motherboards won't read it correctly.

    most default the drive to ~32 or so GB.

    the pci controller card allows ata133 high-capacity drives to read correctly on a ata100 motherboard.

    it has nothing to do with firewire or usb.

    and, sata? maybe if it were a sata drive, but not ide.

    usually, the best thing to do is use the card that comes with the drive. if not, go the manufacturer of the drive. ie, if you got a maxtor drive buy a maxtor pci controller card.

    in the end, any should work...but you may need to update your bios as well.
