    No question that his surroundings shaped who he is. And I think he should be psychologically evaluated and the outcome of that should be factored into his punishment. I just get a little uneasy about the trend towards the elimination of individual responsibility that is so prevalent in this nation. Seems like it's always Dad's fault. No doubt this is the case many times, but how bout pushing hard to overcome those set-backs. In a case like this, it doesn't matter what the sociological factors were when it comes down to sentencing.
