i dont think it's client driven, if i see good work, ill say to myself, "that's good work!" but most of the time, it is just "good" work.
it is not clean, not concise, not refined. but just good, and i appreciate their work in our field. but to be good, in my eyes, you must be clean, concise, and refined, all at the same time as a whole. and i think he does that, while most dont.
there is a fine line between good and inspirational. i would say inspirational happens when fonts are used correctly, a correct image is displayed for the client, and a designer can see composition and line quality in the finished product.
