Work can be inspirational in the sense that it could give you guidance. I look at his work and really appreciate what he has done by working with the content, and keeping the solution clean and concise; I find that aspect of the work refreshing (in the context of alot of cluttered stuff I see everyday) and could be iinspired to try and take that approach to some of my own projects.
Experimental Jetset has great work. But regardless of other designers you could spend forever trying to say oh this designer is not on the same league as this person. I personally disagree with David Carsons ideas on design and I am not a big fan of his work so I hold lots of many designers (regardless of their clients they have worked for) on a higher level them him, but there are alot of people who really thrive and are inspired by his ways of intuition, so its sort of an opinion thing I guess.
