    Also, I DO think the client has relevance in evaluation of this type of web work.

    For example, designing the visual treatment for a huge global tech/r+d company like Fujitsu-Siemens IS noteworthy - not because FSC is a "big name", but because of the scope of work that is involved in a website of that size, as well as the corporate "inertia" a designer must overcome ..

    I think you need to apply a different measure (of merit) to different scenarios/problems ..
