yeah it wasn't so much bad communication as it was about the quick expansion of the underground system, it soon became too complicated to stick with the traditional geographical format, which is why in the 30's LU draughtsman Henry Beck was called into redesign it, he came up with the diagramatic format still in use today in systems the world over.
