If anyone asked me to describe Canada and what it was that I felt was truly depictive of us, i think I would be looking at a blank canvas...
We have loads of history, which I DO think most Canadians are aware of, but if I'm just thinking about what's current and especially what's going on with indigineous people now, I would leave the canvas blank...
Canada has championed many environmental issues and have produced some very forward thinking media-types like Mau, Mcluhan and Adbusters magazine. But as a people we have no strong identity...
We are never perceived or associated with many of these things, if anything we're associated with good weed, hot chicks and as a whole 'peace-loving' people.
The rest of the world really doesn't care about us, because we are not in the business of self-promotion, which is a problem..
While in Europe for 34 days, the only thing I saw on the news concerning Canada was when we bought the busted subs from the brits and we were stranded at sea...which leaves a real good impression to outsiders of Canadians...
sorry I'd love to contribute more to this thread as it is near and dear to me, and this post probably makes little sense, but I've got loads to do...
