Serious face: I think that the average person responds in a more positive manner to something like the chosen logo than say something like Gregs [xrtion, not the high street bread shop]. People see more 'value' in something like the chosen logo, how many times have you shown someone a design with just a bit of type on and they've gone 'I could have done that'? Whereby something like the character people develop some kind of empathy to it, almost 'adopting' the 'mascot'.
