people believe in what they want to believe. if they come across something that agrees with them, they go off and call it truth and start evangelizing it or some shit. It's just that there is a wider range of stuff on the Internet so there's more stuff for folks to latch on to.
and i'll stop there before I go off on cognitive dissonance again.
