    I agree. It's been in the papers, on the news, etc. here all week in Chicago.

    I think it's sad. I think it's sad that people of faith make themselves look so lost, so naive, so gullible, that they suddenly have a reason to have a major connection to their faith, and God, because of a shape on a wall. These people are praying to this water spot on a wall as if it is listening and is going to answer their prayers.
    That they feel this will happen makes me seriously question the depth of their faith. I have a hunch that many of the people who have flocked there and are basically holding vigil there are closet Christians who turn to religion when it's convenient for them.
    Suddenly it's convenient for them to find a connection to God because they are naive enough to see a likeness of Mary in water stains.

    Trust me, I've been under that bridge dozens and dozens of times as I used to live near there: I doubt Mary would pick a place as grimey and disgusting as ANY of the bridges around this city.
