I think it's significant that Jesus loved and honored those "outside the faith" in his day. He attended banquets with drunkards, prostitutes and tax collectors. He elevated the role and dignity of women in a culture that repressed them. This is why the religious of his day, hated him. He was real. Which is why it baffles me how so many have turned following Christ into a religious thing that alienates so many.
