Your probably wondering something like "This is a great idea...But how do I check her arrival and departure weight to find out how much my dinner packed on???"
Your going to have to build a simple weight scale pad from parts you can easily score from RadioShack.
You'll need a sodering iron, PCB kit, some FRS (Force Resistor sensors), a PIC microchip, RF transiever and a welcome mat. If this type of idea catches on more I've been thinking of selling this "Welcome Scale" to the public, but for now it's strictly DIY, but well worth the effort and lesson in simple electronics.
