    It depends on what you want your movie to looks like.. 16:9 is the aspect ratio of the screen (think letterbox) SP is better recording quality than LP but you get less space to film with on the tape. Audio 16bit is higher qual than 12 bit. D Zoom means digital zoom... which you should probably not use.

    DV is Digital Video which is better to use and easier to capture than hi-8 or older tape cams.

    lo-end DV cams can be had for a couple hundred bucks these days - if your going ot make any investment I suggest getting a DV cam.
