i'll be living the high life again soon enough! and never fear: at the risk of getting the hippie smackdown again, i'd just drink loads of green tea, pretend i'm giving up smoking intentionally and call it a "cleansing fast" rather than allow pot noodle (or beans on toast, for that matter) to pass my lips.
the work permit should come through in the next few days, actually. i can worry about my "leave to remain" visa after that. i think it'll all turn out fine.
