magic, that platform looks fantastic. If only it were acheivable. She's not taking into account the fact that all those companies she's going to just flip over to Crown Corps. are owned by people that have a lot of money and want to keep it that way.

Hang on to BC Power if you can, I wish Ontario still had public hydro. But in the end that platform is about 75% unrealistic.

Keep in mind the whole idea of a crown corporation is to develop a new industry that the private sector can't do for lack of investment. Like Bell Canada for example. No one could afford to wire the country up so the goverment did it and then eventually waned it off the federal teet.

I think we're in desparate need of more crown corporations, but only as crutches for existing private companies.

Like power for example. If the feds would regulate private power companies to ensure that people aren't getting screwed then we'd be in a better position.

Plus, if the feds set up a crown corp. to develop new clean energy technologies and then sold them off to the private companies we'd be laughing. Unfortunately there's a lot of old people in the nation right now and they all think we should spend money on the military.

    ?!??

What a joke. I say we should disband the military and spen the cash on technologies that we can then give to our private corporations for free and also export to the rest of the world in order to pay off the costs of development.
