I too think it's over done... But it's close.
some suggestions...
1) lose the gradient
2) I'd run the "A "off the extender of the "L" Like you did witht he "E" off of the "R"
(maybe try it with the S too)3) Also I would tryt o find try to find a column that looks like the "I" (Iit's been a long time since Art Hitory so I forget if it's roman or greek) It could add a nice mirring effect to give the graphic some symetry with the text...
Seems like a lot but they are little ... give it a shot... Your close!
