    Any software you use is only going to be as good as your ability to name, add descriptions, etc. Which is always a big pain in the butt.

    I just use foldernames for whatever adventure the photos were taken on, inside that I have two folders - keep and trash - where I file the good and the bad.

    I started to use Extensis Portfolio but it was such a long process.

    ps. If you can change the default file name on your digital camera, it may be worth doing to make it less trivial.
