i really think what canuck just stated 'document the process' is one of the most important things to start doing for yourself as a beginner in the industry. i have seen countless times where a designer will finish a job and the client wont pay and the designer does not have a log of what they have accomplished to create the job, they end up not getting paid, and the client takes the job away...always always document your work, and always get everything in writing! no matter what, if you need help with receipts you can contact the Graphic Artists Guild: http://www.gag.org/
