The native language in Barcelona is Catalan - much different from the common spanish. but whateva - people there speak the basic spanish as well

catalans speak far more than "basic" spanish, but it's true (wouldn't you say, cap?) that to work in a decent design firm in bcn, you'd need english, spanish, french AND catalan. that's just bcn for you, tho.
