I went to SDSU and we had a design-focused program. it wasnt great, but of the people I know that went to schools that were more tech-focused, most of them really just don't get the whole design side of it.
My advice would be to do the design-side of it. If you like it, you'll spend a lot of time working on your stuff and will learn all of the techy stuff on your own.
Very few people are great designers without schooling at design. Look at all the good ones, and try and find one that has a technology background. All it is is a tool for your design.
Damn, Im starting to sound like my old professors.
