Wow - some people are so aggressive! Don't you have anything better to do than start your Sunday with insults & unproductive criticism?
I'm personally aware that the logo went through many stages. No, it wasn't just a sperm slapped down in front of some nice font. This is one solution after many months of play. I think it is fun & appealing to his particular demographic.
Perhaps you all deserve more explanation - Although I have no idea why the concept of a designer's brain as being fertile, or budding with ideas, is so confusing or "lame" as someone put it. I think it's a clever alternative to what you traditionally think of when you hear the words "fresh idea".
I think the mark is well put together - nothing visually "off" or "wrong" about it. Nice going. Definitely #3 is your strongest.
