i've done the same. quit fulltime and did freelance. first, i regreted quiting my job especially since the market was soooo bad and people are just getting fired everyday.
anyways, after a year of struggle trying to get projects, things opened up. now i've established my network and reputation, i don't have to look hard to get a job.
it will all work out.
