Should we as finite beings really be able to rationally compartmentalize an infinite uncaused first cause, like God? I think not. Yet somehow within his infinite nature, he simultaneously exists as 3 co-equal, distinct persons - just as he has revealed himself in scripture. I'm not prideful enough to suggest that I should be able to fully grasp that.
