  seriously,
  they look at what you wear, make sure your socks match your pants and your shoes are nice and shined. looking really sharp and fashionable always helps.

  also, people in this industry feels more comfortable if you have a prior experience in fashion/beauty industry. at least from my own experience.

  so if you don't have that, make sure to relate how your previous experience can help the design in fashion industry.
