i like exador's perspective. ritual, religion, whatever: it all just means community.
my kin, for instance, understand that the community (whose glue was ritual) that is judaism, has now been supplanted, in part, by community of a different nature (TAZ, anyone?). we retain the ritual for cultural cachet.
spirituality is no longer interdependent with community.
