man, this sounds like a page out of my own life..
i too am one of the lucky white boys that married an indian girl..
:)
wedding was about 240 people or there abouts...200 of em being my wifes family and friends and whatnot..
it was awesome..
great party, everyone got on just fine..
and yes, they definitely give money rather than gifts..
which we definitely appreciated
:)
been married now for almost 6 years, and together for close to 12...
