Mimio, no it would not be of benefit to society. And I'm not arguing that people should not be self-determinant about their own quality of life. To me self-determination about one's quality of life is seperate from issues dealing with the loss or preservation of life, like abortion and euthanasia. The issue is, should we be able to take away the lives of those in a condition like Terri, who are not brain dead. She can't make this decision for herself.
Again... it's a terribly difficult and sad situation.
