"the preview icon? is that in iPhoto? I don't actually want to preview them, I want to view them in fullscreen, sized to fit.

No no no... he means just select your cd, or its contents, and drag and release over the icon for preview, and all will be opened,.... or just do this: open your cd,, command + "a" to select all its contents, then ctrl click on one of them (or right click) and where you have the open with choice, choose preview... you will be able to vew them full scale, plus see thumbnails on the right...
