my wife is Indian, and has been called all that and worse over the years...
it's getting much better now tho..
when she was young, there were only a handfull of indian folks here in Mississauga..
now, there is so many of them it would almost be strange saying 'minority'..it's quickly becoming a majority...
what's even better is that at the highschool she teaches at, it's probably alteast 50% southeast asian...pakistani, indian, afghani, you name it...
there's no WAY on earth anyone there will say ANYTHING remotely racist to an indian kid...half the bloody school would be down on top of them...
it's like mutually assured destruction.

so everything works out just fine...
one thing she's noticed over the years teaching there is that most of the hard ass trouble makers are white...you know, disrespectful, swear at teachers, shit disturbers...that sort of thing..
many of the indian and pakistani kids are relatively new to the country, and probably still have not so fond memories of school back home where your teachers were still allowed to beat your punk ass for being a retard in class...
so they're quite respectful
